if the current situation persists, everybody can sell U.S $ for Canadian $ then earn higher interest in Canada. say, 1 year later(ideally the interest rates in the two countries remain unchanged and U.S dollar continue it's depreciation against the Canadian counterpart), one just withdraw canadian depoist then covert back into U.S dollar with profit in currency exchange and also in-hand higher interest income.
this kind of arbitradge opportunity is not supposed to exist for too long.
let's see what is going on next, the monetary policy change of the two countries is critical.

                    YES, MY SUGGESTION WAS THEORETICAL. I THINK THE ACTION TAKEN BY THE FEDERAL RESERVE IS GONNA BE IMPORTANT. GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION CAN BREAK EVERYTHING.
