BREAKING:
Following the release of my exclusive report yesterday about how Thomas Matthew Crooks, the shooter who tried to assassinate President Trump in Pennsylvania was featured in a Blackrock ad in 2023, @BlackRock quietly deleted the ad. When I called them out for deleting the ad and not issuing a statement, Blackrock then issued a statement yesterday, 12 hours after my report broke.
However, in the statement, Blackrock lied. They said the ad was from 2022.
The ad is actually from 2023, as I reported, meaning it was less than 1 year ago.
The ad was filmed in 2022, and it was published in 2023, making it a 2023 ad.
Glad I could force Blackrock’s hand. But, it would be nice if they could pay better attention to details and tell the truth...
As we learned this week, accuracy with time stamps is very important.
BLACKROCK STATEMENT:
"The assassination attempt on former President Trump is abhorrent. We’re thankful former President Trump wasn’t seriously injured, and thinking about all the innocent bystanders and victims of this awful act, especially the person who was killed. As our leadership team communicated to colleagues last night, BlackRock strongly condemns political violence of any kind and will do our part to promote civility and unity in the country. In 2022, we ran an ad featuring a teacher from Bethel Park High School, in which several unpaid students briefly appeared in the background, including Thomas Matthew Crooks. We will make all video footage available to the appropriate authorities, and we have removed the video from circulation out of respect for the victims.”
