本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛I got an offer (Java Developer) from a US company. It falls into "Computer Systems Analyst", but I don't have computer degree (my degree is Phd/MS/BA in civil engineering (Japan and China)). However, I have 4-year experience in software development in Canada.
All document I brought to are
1. US Company's letter (To Border Officials)
2. My current company's letter (prove I have 4 year experience in software development in Canada)
3. Resume
4. All degree (original certificates, and origianl English translation issued by universities. Note: all degrees are from China and Japan, I didn't do any "Evaluation" for these degrees)
5. My three Java certificates from SUN.
I went to Rainbow Bridge (Niagara falls), submitted these papers. After a few minutes, the officer called me to enter the room. He only asked one question: " Are you going to work in California?" "Yes." I answered. That's it. Then he returned ALL documents (including the letters) to me and asked me to go outside and pay fee.
Experience: prepare all documents clearly, wear 整齐点的衣服, 不用打领带.
希望这个贴能给非计算机专业毕业的搞计算机的人士一点鼓励.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
