本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛I returned here 1 months ago with lots of questions in mind. However, the whole thing was not as complicated as what I thought, still a bit hectic though.
Airport: Pearson
Procedure:
1. Went through the custom desk and tried to explain my situation to the guy. He didnot want to listen. Instead, he asked me to go to the 'immigration'' office. This seems a standard procedure for PRs.
2. In the 'immigration office' , an officer asked me a few questions. Details:
* when did you leave?
* What did you do in these two years?
* How long do you intend to stay this time?
I was asked to show:
* Air tickets
* Job offer letter
* maple card
He also asked a few casual-style questions about my background. But he didnot warn me about residency obligation. Actually, I asked him if it was true that I need to stay for two more years to keep PR status. He agreed.
3. When I tred to claim the funding, I met some problems. An old guy asked me a lot of unrelated questions, trying to challenge me my intention. He even asked me to tell him my PhD project and tried to show me he knew about this:) I knew he had no right to do anything to me cause I had the right to enter. But it was a bit annoying. Anyway, I am legal by all means and my intention to stay is sincere. After about 30 minutes chat, I got a 'welcome back' from him with smile. I do think this is not necessary for most of guying who are returning. Just please be prepared to be chanllenged.
Ok then. Hope this helps更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
