here is why?

1. I got offer in October, 2004.
2. sent out H1 application out in October, 2004
3. wait for almost 5 months and got H1 in March, 2005.
4. already no response in first 2 months, so I heard that working in that company would not be good.
5. I quit.
6. When I got the approval of H1, I think I can apply and got my H1 visa in Toronto consulate. I think it won't be bad for me so that I can go to USA as H1 status.
7. After I got H1 visa, i visited usa once this summer.
8, recently I heard that somebody say that H1 status is only good for a people for 5 or 6 years.
9. Now I am worried that If i want to apply usa green card sometime in the future, can i still have 5 or 6 years for green card application?

if somebody is exprienced on this issue, please share this information with me or somebody else visitors of Rolia.net from Canada.

as long as you used your H1B, the total-6-years clock starts tick - your current H1B is going to be used up around 2010.

If you don't work for your sponsor company, your h1b won't be effective. So it won't affact you anyway. You won't be able to do a transfer without paystubs. With the quota gone, why not work on this h1b for a while? -guest3(guest); 2005-10-6 (#2539356@0)

you can have only one visa at a time. The latest one determines your status. You can return i94 at border. I797 has a i94 attached at the bottome. if you return it, it can show you won't use your h1b to enter US. -guest3(guest); 2005-10-6 (#2540617@0)
