Subject: My bad bank experience
Based upon my bad experience, I would recommend you NOT to choose Bank of Montreal.
I deposited $2830 into my account through ABM machine, and then a month
later (after I received my bank statement),
I surprisingly found that they debited $2830 from my account and credited
$1830 into my account.
Thus they adjusted my deposit amount with $1000 short, without even to
notify me.
And of course, I can not take is easy. I knew that I did not make any error,
because I counted several times to make sure that there was no counting
error.
I requested them to show me the original deposit slip where the deposit
amount is
itemized. They said that they did not keep it.
I thus complained: "If you make any adjustment on my ABM deposit amount,
first of all, you got to notify me. Second of all, if you ever make any
adjustment,
you have to keep my original deposit envelope and the yellow deposit slip.
Otherwise you are destroying the evidence, and customers can be easily
the victims of either your paper work error or your internal fraud."
I have taken this matter to their Onbudsman, and then to the Onbudsman of
Canadian Bank Association.
So far, they offerred to compensate me $500 only. And I still lose $500.
And right now, I am just afraid of using their ABM machines.
I hope my experience will help you.
If anyone who has come across similar situation, please
reply to me. I am looking for justice.
