My son was born in US. I brought him back to Canada (with US passport). Now I am sponsoring him to be a Canadian PR. The CIC told me once I got my citizenship, my son can apply for Canada citizenship immediately. I know Canada allow dual citizenhip. But how about US? A friend told me if he get Canadian citizenship, he has to give up his US citizenship since US doesn't allow dual citizenship. Or in other word, a Canadian citizenship can apply for US citizenship while still keep Canadian citizenship. But a US citizenship can't do the same. Anyone an expert on this? But it doesn't seem a big issue before he reachs 18.
