教育局将会派一名心理测验者去测试你的小孩.

测试用的是WISC - IV加拿大版, 你没有可能准备考试. 希望能让小孩预先知道一下情况, 不要让他紧张.
考试人会提前和你联系, 这时你要说明你的小孩的情况. 我建议你不要谦虚, 并且多表扬一下小孩. 因为我们并不明白一般的小孩是什么样的, 没有比较, 反而觉得自己的小孩一般. 你要如实反应自己的小孩如何学习, 进度如何, 聪明如何. 希望你也如实说你是移民家庭, 家里用汉语, 所以希望考虑文化背景因素, 不然可能小孩会吃亏.
如果他的表现好, 就可以进入GIFTED CLASS. 具体的标准是死的, 99分能进, 98分就不能进, 所以不必太介意. 我认为95, 96, 97 和98, 也是非常好的, 可是标准是99. 打分是分很多方面的, 通俗来说就是语文或是数学, 单科99. 或是语文数学平均98, 就可以入GIFTED CLASS. 其他科目再好, 也没用.
我说的是TORONTO教育局的考试. 各个教育局不一样.

was in grade 3 and recommended to take part in the psychological test by teacher. He passed it and was admitted. He has been in the gifted class for almost five years. He didn't do any preparation for the test. He is good because he doesn't need parents to teach him. He can study very independently. So I say I am very proud of him. He is a genius compared to me.
It is said a student is given thorough test before being admitted into the gifted program. So don't worry about your child's test. If he/she is eligible, admitance is inevitable. Good luck!
Anyway, what I hope for my son now is he can be admitted by top University with scholarship, though he still has quite a few years to graduate.

I think we can show those top universities how the gifted program is operated and make them know the detail. They should know the difference. Only some of them just want students with higher mark in order to raise the "reputation" of their universities no matter what high schools their students come from. The teachers in the gifted program can give good reference for their students and make those universities know what gifted program really is.
Actually we need some parents with "gifted" children who have been admitted into universities to stand out to talk about it. They should have this kind of experience!

after several month, I realised that It's much better than in in a regular school.
1, Kids can learn more in the gifted class. The teacher has many stuffs and tests. of course more homeworks.
2,My son had got higher marks than before, Which I didn't expect.(13 A to 6 A)
3,Teachers are more strict but mor understanding. Cause he (or she) knows what kind of kids he(or she) is dealing with.

女儿大致说了几个:
1..老师出几个数字,比如9,6,8,12,3,5,说一遍后让她反过来说一遍. 5,3,2,1,8,6,9 这应该是比较容易的了,小孩记忆力好.

2.找同类物品:九个物件分三行,每行选一个.
盆花沙花铅笔
橡皮邮票汇桌子
地图针式手提包
3. 九个方格,每格有三个三角形(不同的方向组合),问正中那个该是朝哪个方向的?
...........
