多谢，我起初也是这样想的，但是头儿提出是不是可以利用新的磁带机3592-E05。不知道下面的方法是否可行。

首先，只有3494磁带库需要挪地方(因为机房空间不够)，TSM Server尽量不能停机。

1、临时的带库使用3592，在TSM中定义Library and path, device class, drives and path, storage pools for new device class.
2、修改copy group, nextstgpool of disk pool to new storage pool,
3、migrate old storage pool to new storage pool.
4、disconnect old device/library,
5、relocate the old tape library,
6、install new 3592 tape drives in old tape library.
7、connect old tape library.
8、check out 3592 tapes, delete 3592 drives from new library, delete new library.
9、add 3592 drives in old library
10、check in 3592 tapes in old library.

这样做的一个目的是不用再往回倒数据了，直接进行磁带机的升级。不知道这样行不？

单位有一个3494磁带库，6个frame, 20个3590磁带机，一个TSM Server on AIX.

现在需要将磁带库搬到同一个楼的另外一个机房。公司准备使用一个临时的3494磁带库(使用3590磁带机或者3592磁带机)，使得在磁带库搬迁的时候，关键的TSM用户还可以使用备份，特别是数据库的LOG备份。

请教有着方面经验的大虾，最好的实施方案和步骤是什么？

stop reclamation processes for all pools. 1) connect small library, and check in scratch tapes. 2) configure it in TSM environment for backup. created pools based on small lib. 3) disconnect the big lib. 4). move tsm server ? 5) move data from small lib?

Then you still need to move data from old 3590 volumes to 3592 volumes unless you don't need those data before migration at your step 3. -lostme(Can Work OT); 2006-2-1 {220} (#2757463@0)
If you plan well, i can't see any problem... Make sure your temporary library's slot number. Also when you move library and tape drives, the logical deivce names will be different, so maybe you need to redefine them...
