有熟悉informix se 的大侠吗? installation of SE 7.24 UC5 on Linux Fedora Core 5 failed:

I'm installing informix se7.24 uc5 on Linux fedora 5 kernel 2.6.15-1.2054-fc5, and
when I run ./installse under $INFORMIXDIR, after entering the serial# and key I get this failure:

Installing directory .
Installing directory bin
etc/install: line 197: 5121 Segmentation fault $BRAND -n -s $SERNUM $KEY M
Installation of INFORMIX-SE failed.

Any idea what's going on? I'm quite sure the user/group/$INFORMIXDIR have been setup correctly.

I know se7.24uc5 is kinda old, so Is that caused by incompatibale SE and Linux versions? Please help, thanks!

    • don't know exactly why, but go $INFORMIXDIR/ check release note(cant' remember the filename and dir) for libc/glibc and kernel version. Make sure the requirment and the OS match.
      • Thanks, I did check it , it said 2.0X ( interesting that I did successfully install it on a higher version kernel-2.4X two years ago ). I called Informix and yes Fedora 5 is not supported by any Informix engine yet.
        btw, it's $INFORMIXDIR/release/en/0333/ :D
        • may be u need to : 1.try suse or other supported OS. 2. download most current informix package to match the OS in current marke.t
          • I'll go back to redhat7.3. Fedora 5 has no supporting informix engines what so ever.
