Network printer problem

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛I have a problem on network printer. Basically, the small company uses window network. The server uses window 2000 server. we have most computer with XP PRO joining the domain. One of these computers installs a hp laserjet 1320 printer, and this printer is set "Sharing". Because of whatever reasons, we still have one computer with XP home. So this computer can go into the window network using guest account. I add that network hp laserjet printer to this XP home version using network administrator password (this is not good but I have to use this way at the moment). The problem is whenever I restart the computer, I must reconnect the network printer even I check "reconnect logon". More weird, sometimes, we can't printer anything from this XP home version computer to that printer even the printer works fine for the xp pro computer. In this case, I first delete this network printer from XP home version computer, then try to add this printer again. I found one problem, whenever a pop-up window shows up and let you give network administrator information, the printer can be set up correctly. But if no this step, the printer sometimes still can be set up but can't work. My qeustion is 1) why the XP home version comuputer can connect to that network printer without administrator permission? 2) how to avoid this annoying problem? I mean whenever reconnect this network printer from xp home version printer, how can I force to request administrator?

      • 原因是对的,但解决起来没那么复杂,log in the comp which installed printer with local admin( not domain user) and share the printer again.
