I know you are worried.

As far as I know, many students there are working as TA(teaching assistant) or RA(research assistant), or jobs within school. they are all legal.

If you get good scores in the first couple of semester, chances are you will get some financial help including scholarship, RA offer, even fellowship.

But you will have difficulties to get a student visa because of your situation, unless you could borrow some money showing on the bank statement first.

Anyway it's not easy, but don't give up too early.

Again, good luck.

Hi, just got an offer from an American University, happy but also...
I am a landed immigrant of Canada, not a US citizen, so cannot apply those student loan for the US citizen. However, since this university is in US, seems I cannot receive student loan from Canada? What I should do?
    • check OSAP website, I believe they allow you attending listed US schools.
      • There is a school search feature on OSAP, you should be able to find out whether yours is approved for CSL (Canada Student Loans Plan ), but most liekly you won't get Ontario provincial part.
        • Thx! But I can only borrow about 10000 Can Dollars, which is totally not enough to cover my tuition. Can I also from bank?
          • Sure you can talk to banks, but another way could be finding a part-time job.
            • You mean a PT job in US? Can I ? By that time I will be only a student.
