FYI, for parent looking for daycare/school,CMS@YORK MILL is not good. My kid has been staying in CMS for 6 SIX Months, we quit because :

1) 99% of teachers has english accent and limited vocabulary,
this will impact on children's Linguistic development,
2) Teachers' turnover rate in CMS is very high, 2rd/3rd teacher changes everything months. In the end kids suffered.
3) Administration is highly commercial. making profit is their major goal, for example.
my kids going back to China for one month. the fee is totally non refundable although we noticed them one month ago
4) For Christmas/new year week, Fee is doubled, almost 100$/day.

      For 3. I think this has been written on the contract, for most Montessori School, if you want to drop off, you need to notice one month ago. For example, you want to drop for Mar, you need to give the notice on Jan 31 or before 31, and there is no drop off after April

      For 4. It is already written in the contract, every month has the same fee, and in September, there may be no school in the first week, in Dec, there is a long winter vacation more than one week, in Jan, it's also possible to have one week vacation for the first week, and in Mar, there is another one week vacation for March Break, in Jun, the last week could be no school. That's the reason you always need to register for one year, not month by month

          CMS york mills is not cheap for many family, but it's cheaper than TMS. Next time, when you register your kids for any other daycare, you'd better to ask about the drop policy. I think the drop policy for CMS is just in normal rules.

          if You drop your kids for one months and need them to keep this space, you should pay. Otherwise, how the school get the money to pay the teachers? Especially Montessori teaching unit is one year, nobody will put the kids to Montessori for just one month. If everybody dorp the kids on Dec, and how the school make their profile? They are private school, not public services, for sure, their goal is to make profile.
