本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛We are an inferior race!!!! Something is seriously wrong with our ancestors, our culture, our skin color, our look….
Shall we quietly and gently disappear into the night? For as an inferior race living among the superior race---the white culture, we are behind them in everything, according to this guy.
Come on, we are a group of grass-root common folks, just wanting to have some fun. As far as I know, no one is really “professional”, but who cares about “professionals” anyway. If you want things perfect, watch tv or movies; they are really perfect.
I rehearsed hundreds of times before I went on stage, but each time I made mistakes, forgetting this or that.
I can understand the guy who controlled the music for the first program, and I think it is totally forgivable. When you are nervous, mistakes emerge. But to err is human. No big deal. It is frustrating for the performers, but it’s not worth cursing others, let alone cursing our race… culture…
Actually, it would be boring if it were too perfect.
Who says that we have to be better each year. A certain year we happen to have a better group, then we do better; another year, we might have a less serious group, or people who have more concerns than just the show, then we have a less than perfect show. We are not destined to make progress all the time, for if we were destined to do so, we would have ridded of wars, famines and miseries of various kinds. Everyone, everyone, Chinese or White people … are destined to go through all the ups and downs…. Life would be so hard, so miserable if we all have to be forced to strive for perfection like you.
“咱们华人在技术方面要追上西方国家,这样的技艺和心态是远远不够的。” We are minority here… we live here … we don’t complete with 西方国家. We leave this to those big guys. We leave all this to people like you, who 忧国忧民,哀其不幸,怒其不争。We don’t seek to change the world; we only want to have some fun. Please don’t spoil it…. Please… I beg you. Don’t start another “cultural revolution”.
“你一言我一语的在无限吹捧和客套”yes… some of us are vain, and want support and encouragement, for this is a very time consuming job that yields no pay in any form. A little praise, a little flattering words is all we get. So please don’t rob that of us….
So glad you are so responsible, so professional, so sensitive to your identity as a Chinese. But brother, take it easy; life will be better, much better if we become more accepting, more forgiving…. Don’t you think so?
And hope you will contribute more next year, with your skills and professionalism.
Sincerely yours,
