I prefer to do things based on worst scenario

1. No traffic, 60 km drive, if you take off during rush hour, could be forever. 94 or 96 highway between Bridge and Ann Arbor through Detroit, you might be able to back in 30 minutes at midnight, not in the morning.

2. you might be surprised at US custom 1 out of 10 times, that means twice a month, would be acceptable.

3. Cost: 7$ bridge fair, 5$ gas everyday, that's 300$ a month commute cost, 3000 km every month, plus one hour / day on the road.

4. You have to buy 25US$ for outside campus parking per year, then take UM bus to class everyday, 30 minutes at least.

5. In term of citizenship, no comment.

。。。关于LIVE IN CANADA, STUDY IN USA。

        THANKS
        • Downtown Windsor connects downtown Detroit, so you gotta live on the outskirt of windsor, custom takes about 2 mins for citizens, don't know what f1 is, but the line up could take an hour easy...whatelse's there?
          • THANKS I GET IT
      • I know some people daily commuting from Windsor to AA. They are working/studying in UM. It takes about an hour each way (Highway, local and border). Parking in UM campus is always a problem.
    • mission impossible
      1. If no traffic at all, 30 minues one way, all highway. parking is a problem in UM campus

      2. US custom could take you 30 minutes to 2 hours, F1 should be okay.

      3. You will be better off living in AA in terms of cost and time saving.

      4. Get a return permit
LIVE IN AA IS BERTER CHOICE,

        • more information
          1. I will make my priority first, in my opinion degree from UM is better and more important than citizenship.

          2. You will save yourself time and money if staying in AA, the only sacrifice is jail time for citizenship. you can try a return permit, or even a lawyer's advise, eventually you will save a lot.

          3. If you have more questions or need help, make a list, send me by email.

          Good luck.
          • OH, MY GOD YOU MUST BE A GUY IN UM。 THEN I HAVE MUCH MORE QUESTIONS TO YOU。 CAN I KNOW YOUR DEPARTMENT?
            ANYWAY, I WILL CONTACT U BY MAIL。
YOUR ADVICES HAS CHANGE MY OPINION QUITE A LOT。
            THANKS A LOT
            HOPE TO MEET U THERE
    • help you a bit---quite tough if u commute between windsor and AA, 1st of all,
      you may not live in the area close to entrance of tunnel/bridge, that way, your travel distance gets longer, not mnetioning possible rush hours;

      bordercrossing is a bit more strict than b4, but still wont take long, if u r immi only, maybe they ask a little more, once ur face gets familiar to the customs officers, the process is quite routine;

bridge side is closer for u, but normally more crowded than tunel, I-94(to chicago), I-96(to Lansing), M-23, M-14 all lead to AA, btw, UMich is 1 of the best pub univ in midwest or even in whole usa.
      • Thanks. So many warm kind hearted guys/gals here. All your commenses make it sense.
