help: what's the difference between US GAAP and CAN GAAP regarding OCI issue? what about project development cost, capitalize or expense? can someone move it to "kuai ji lun tan" ? thx

From outset, rules are the same both here and US. You need to look at the GAAP for the country in question for industry-specific issues. Similar principles apply to Capital Assets/Costs for a normal business.

If it's a project, you need to research more to see if it fits a special rule that has been preset by CRA or IRA. You should refer to CICA handbooks (in it, they usually mention any deviations that would exist between Canada and US)

nah..i'm not dealing with tax pro. it's project cost not capital... if my memory serves me rite, project cost can be capitalized under CAN GAAP but not in US one...2 bad i forgot to bring handbook to clafify myself..anyway... any idea about OCI?
