Transportation and Logistics
Students from the program are likely to seek an analytical staff position rather then a managerial line position. Typically the positions are related to: the analysis and forecasting of transportation markets; operations planning in transportation or logistics; appraisal of investment programs in transport or logistics; and management consulting. Students enjoy good job prospects as the management of transportation and logistics functions has become more analytical. The development of new firms specializing in providing contract logistics services is creating a range of new positions for well trained graduates with experience. The privatization or commercialization of many public transportation services has opened up new employment opportunities. There are also good opportunities with consulting firms.

Transportation and Logistics

Program Structure
All graduate students are expected to attend the Transportation and Logistics faculty workshop, a weekly series of research seminars and invited speakers.

Students may elect a thesis or non-thesis option. Since the MSc is a specialized degree, a thesis option may be appropriate.

A student on a non-thesis option must write a major essay during the second year of their program, and obtain a passing grade.

Programs are designed with an advisor to meet the particular interests of individual students; nonetheless, there are two streams: one emphasizing Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and an alternate stream emphasizing Transport Economics, Project and Policy Evaluation.

The graduate program requirements will include methodology courses, for example in economics, statistics, or management science. Interdisciplinary programs are possible by combining work in Commerce with courses in Engineering, Community and Regional Planning, Economics, and/or Geography.

MSc students take a combination of Master and PhD level courses. A limited number of senior undergraduate courses will also count towards the degree program. Although the program of study is to be designed jointly by the faculty advisor and the student, the following courses are recommended:

      • Seneca college has this program" globe logistics and supply chain managent"
