1, No influence is usually a direct result of lack of trust between them. But what's the root cause? Maybe your team's function is not essential to the department, therefore the 2nd level manager doesn't pay attention to your team; Maybe your 2nd level mgr doesn't think highly of your manager's ability, therefore he just ignores whatever your manager said; Maybe it's because there were some bad history between them. Once you know the root cause, you have more context to act accordingly afterwards.
2, Do more research. 你的二老板对你有怎样的印象?深刻还是模糊?好还是一般?别的同事如何看待你的老板;他们对你的情况有和建议(在公司里一定要几个这样的朋友)。你二老板对你们team和部门的下一步规划是什么,从中发掘机会。你老板如何解释你仍未或晋升的解释和未来career path计划,他对你的建议等;你的老板的其他下属又是如何晋升的。
根据你本人、你老板、你老板的老板、你的小组,你的部门,你们公司的文化等具体情况,你可以选择不同的出路,这里不存在说哪个是一定是最好的,适合你自己并最终达到目的就行。
1,在本小组或本部门没机会时,跳组,内部跳槽并获得跃升;
2,在不得罪你老板的情况,让2nd level manager 有机会直接了解你的能力;我觉得只要有心,还是可以在工作中找到机会的;
3, Find a mentor in your company to coach you
4,Stay course until you feel you are ready again.
切记:以下几个雷区没有对positive result 100%的把握,不要去尝试:
1,越级汇报。Always follow chain of command
2,对老板两面三刀;
3,消极怠工。这是很不成熟的表现;
4,Spread your negative feeling to others.
