In April 2000, BMW announced that it would break up and sell Rover, selling Land Rover (to Ford), keeping the new Mini, and selling the rest of the car section to an investment company `Alchemy' which would make and sell sports cars under the `MG' name (the British government was not pleased!). By late April, the Alchemy deal may have fallen through with a rival `Phoenix' group, led by an ex-Rover executive, still in the race.

    在下是Jeep发烧友，但还没能开上，呵呵。
    首先对SUV（SportsUtilityVehicle)这一不伦不类的名称很反感，What the hell is it anyway?在下喜欢称之为Jeep.现在满街上跑的SUV,有几辆称得上是真正的Jeep?
    在下的拙见，玩吉普三境界：
    1。收入中低时，Chrysler的Jeep Wrangler和Cherokee不错。
    2。收入中高时，BMW的LandRover.
    3。收入高时，绝对要玩Hummer.:-)
    这些车都是由军用车辆改民用型，真正野外山地测试过，爬山跨沟涉水都没问题。
    当然，有人说这些功能平时用不着。但买吉普，追求的就是马力，四驱，操作性和不可言传的一种吉普精神。要不然还不如买一辆Van或Pickup更实用。而且各地都有专门的野地专供发烧友去FB.
    Hummer恐怕这辈子难得开上。JeepWrangler还是可以实现的。
    风和日丽的夏日，驾一改装过的JeepWrangler，拆掉顶棚，卸下车门，甚至推倒挡风玻璃，旁边坐一ppmm，伴着震地的Rap音乐飞驰。人生之乐，不过如此呀！：-）
