You need passport, SSN (Social Security Number, not SIN as someone siad), proof of residency in Ohio (for our international student, it is form I-20, I guess you may also use your lease or phone bill). You may require a Chinese test paper (and in University of Cincinnati, you can also got the answer for multi-choice items form Chinese students). There are two parts of written test: multi-choice and traffic sign recognization.

Normally you need wait for at least one week to have your road test, and you need to call for an appointment for it.

Before the road test, you need to pass the parallel parking test. If failed, no chance go for road test. After passing it, you may go for road test.

In road test, generally you need to drive around the testing center, no highway at all. In fact, you need to be careful only for 1)Stop sign (stop completely and turn yout head around), 2) Speed limit (most are very low, say 30 mph in residential area around the testing center), 3) Left turn and right turn. It's not very difficult, but sometimes you may encounter a tough offical. Normally there are only few possible testing routes around the testing center, you may practice driving there and be familiar environment.

You will get your driver's license on site if you passed road test.
