what can I do for this accident

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Last week my Van contacted civic while I am trying to change the lane at 401, the speed was about 5-10km/h due to the traffic. I could not stop due to exit the lane...I heard somesound but I was not sure what happened. However the civic guy reported to CRC later of day with my plate num...then CRC persons left message at my home. Then I reported claimed I was not sure what happened. My van was just little scartched at the front left wheel...I got the phone num, so I talked to the civic driver expressed my apoligized for what happened to him. Asking him how much the damage could be, I am willing to pay for this cost. He said he will go to see his dealer and estimate the cost of damage...

Last night he called me, saying the cost around 580 can...actually when the accident happened, his car was stopped there...my van was just slided touching his car, while my van was changing the lane with that slow speed. I asked him is that possibe for me to see the car...he said I could contact his bodyshop they will let me know what's damage are. sounds like he does not what me to see the car...I do not know what to do if I go thru by insurance company...they might increase the insurance rate...Anyone has any idea how to handle this accident with reasonable cost...thanks

      1. The repair could be as expensive as more than 580$, no reason not to believe the number.

      2. Ask the dealership send you an official repair estimation.

      3. Contact the car owner, insist that you will cut a check after seeing the damage, the check should be co-signed to the dealership, or if not more than 580$, you will pay by the invoice value after repair.
