千万别从美国过境，美国人会想办法给你制造麻烦！！！

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛去年底、今年初，我买了一张美联航 (UA) 的机票回国，没想到因此浪费了一千多加圆，还着了很大的急。

因此，我发誓再也不买美国过境的机票，特别是美国航空公司的机票，即使将来我拿到加拿大护照。

事情简单而气人。

我的飞机是从多伦多到芝加哥转机，再飞北京。

去的时候，一切还算顺利，唯一奇怪的是在离开芝加哥登机时，联航的一个职员看完我的护照把我上面还没有到期的 I-94 卡撕掉了，我问他为什么，他说：“你回来时，他们会再给你一张。”我也没在意就上了飞机。

一周后，当我在北京首都机场托运行李领登记牌时，也是一个 UA 雇员告诉我：“对不起，你走不了。我们刚接到的通知，所有护照有效期少于半年的，不能从美国过境。”！！！？？？
而且，那个工作人员告诉我，如果我飞到芝加哥，更麻烦。这时，我又见到另一位中国旅客，碰到了和我一样的问题。我只好打道回府。

第二天，折腾了半天，重新办护照要 3-5 天，等不及，回来晚了要丢工作；只好另买了一张加航的单程票，晚了两天赶回来，耽误了好多事情，还好工作没耽误。

我就不明白，过境总共需要一小时十五分钟，他美国管我护照有效期够不够半年？！荒唐。

我的一些朋友，也在过境美国时碰到过其他麻烦。

这要求是合理的，将来你入了加籍，办中国签证时，也要求你护照有效期半年以上。你应该走之前到中国领馆办护照延期，很方便的。同样的路线我走过，没有任何问题。乘飞机离开美国前要交回i-94，正常，与你后来的事没有关系。 -eglington(eglington); 2003-1-20 (#988637@0)

1. Nobody stop the guy when he left for Chicago from Toronto at Pearson Airport. But there is stuff of UA stop him at Beijing Airport.

2. why not Air Canada stop him too for the same reason if it's a common rule to keep your passport valid more than 6 months.

3. I know you have to keep your passport valid for more than 6 months to apply any country's visa but actually that guy got the 3 year US visa on his passport. His US visa should be no problem.

Anyway, just want to remind all Chinese people pay more attention on the international travel rule of different air company. Especially US air company. Like the friends on rolia said, keep yourself informed. Before ordering your ticket, log on the air company's website to check if there is any special rules or ask friends on rolia.

If you show your passport to the INS inspector in Pearson and tell them your passport will get expired in less than 6 months, you will be barred for sure. -yuanzidan(原子弹); 2003-1-24 {121} (#997156@0)
They let you in by overlooking the experie date, which does not necessarily mean you will be granted to be in next time.

I ever gave my I-94 to the staff on the airport or the visa officer. They all asked me: "Don't you want to go to US again within this half year?" Then if I insist they'd take it. -sunwave61(paul); 2003-1-24 {78} (#997048@0)
But this time, the guy just tear the I-94 down and askd me nothing. The same?
