The hardest topic in high school chemistry here was to memorize all the naming convention of organic chemistry.

Did you yourself or someone in your family go to High School in Canada? It is totally different from China. Don't assume that the curriculum is identical. There are huge differences from school to school.

Some high schools, like those in Toronto for international students, do have specially curriculums for international students. They are a lot easier.A friend of my kid's graduated from such a high school with average 95 but failed at her first year at U of T.

Math is relatively easier for Chinese students as they normally have had good training on it. While Business and Medicine etc. require a good commend of English. The girl I mentioned earlier got an average of 61 didn't make her way to second year CS that required 65.

You know more than littleboat. My kid was a top student at Renda Fuzhong in Beijing, she didn't feel it was easy at high school here in Canada. Her school has a high standard than most high schools in Ontario.

There is no standardized curriculum in high schools at least in Ontario. It varies greatly. One school's OAC courses could be as easy as another's Grade11. Top students from some high schools often can'tpass their first year especially in B&C, Medicine and few other majors. Take U of T as an example, the average of one Calculus course for first year B&C students was 54 in the fall semester. 80 would be considered as excellent.
