Microsoft is a small fraction of the entire industries. Counting on its campus recruiting practice doesn't really tell which shcool is good or bad. Companies have different criteria thus focus on different schools. -rotten(downtoearth); 2003-4-13 (#1138222@0)
我觉得这样的Urban Legend还是少谈为好。我个人相信在MSFT的IIT（印度理工学院--著名的IT蓝领工厂）的学生要比UW学生多，甚至Washington State的学生也会比UW的学生多。
一个靠Co-op起家，并以此为荣的学校，在学术上是谈不上名牌的。

试想想，如果IBM终止了和UW的Coop合同，或者IBM倒闭了，那UW的学生特殊在哪里呢？ UW的价值在于他的Coop, 而UW本身似乎不能赋予学生什么价值。我从未看到过一个大学是如此依赖于一个公司而生存的。这样看来， UW最重要的不是他的教授，而是负责和IBM拉关系的职员。

Good point! A reputalbe univeristy would never depend on Co-op to lure studnets. A company could go bankrupt at any time. Bet on one school's Co-op won't guarantee a bright future. Good education is more important in a long run. -rotten(downtoearth); 2003-4-16 (#1143087@0)

Frankly speaking, the education quality in UW is very good rather than just Co-op.am studying in ECE dep now. Some of my friends graduated from UT or UBC. They all think the courses in our dep are more important than the courses offered in their university.
