如用支票支付, 算不算一种收据? 支票上有抬头, 有日期, MEMO上有XX月房租?
谢谢! 另外, 加拿大, 至少是BC, 只付半个月房租作为SECURITY DEPOSIT. 但在MIAMI, 要付一个月房租DEPOSIT, 第一个月和最后一个月房租.

就算付支票也一定要当面拿到收据。否则,房东说没收到支票怎么办?

Question: for a new house owner(I mean, just bought a house), is it legal to rent out part of the rooms? How to deal with the tax issue for that? Rental income?

it is legal to rent out part of your principle residence. it is considered as rental income but you can deduct rental expense against the income. the net profit will be added to your income for tax.
