Do not cryAlthough I do not like Agent too, it is not so miserable as you thought. The bigest drawback of scholarship fund is its inflexibility. However, if you can keep fund your account, the return you get should not be too bad. Actually, in most case it can still excceed what you get by DIY.

If you are able to put up some savings (RRSP, investment), why not consider RESP? No RESP, no $400/y goverment contribution. It is not a question whether to set up RESP or not, it is how, or where.
