Yes, you could do this a few years ago, not sure about the rules now. They asked you to report the car at the boarder when you were landing, then you had to change the plate to a Canadian one.

美国海关：１）车主证，２）买车收据(optional). 要在７２小时前fax给美国海关. 他们好像４点后就下班了。 加拿大海关:The recall clearance letter 很重要，应该给你的车厂打电话要。其他都可以以后办。

美国海关: 不在你这一侧, 你看见也过不去; 加拿大海关: 拿landing paper进来很容易, 什么都不问, 给你的所有纸都要小心收好, 难在进来后的安检上牌照, recall clearance, 海关的纸少一样都麻烦S.

即使上好了牌照也不算完, 过一年税务局还可能找你, 所以海关的纸一定要保存几年. 除非很新的车, 否则真不划算.

you better rent a car if the time is too tight for you now. make sure you fill the Things to follow list, add your car in there. then you could import your car next time
