My mom got visa last month (visiting my sister in US). Heard of some cases of being refused for sightseeing, but I think it is worthing trying.The visa officers should know the elders are not going to look for a job or anything, other than spending money helping their economy. Also, if visa granted, it is going to be one year multiple entry, so worth the money.
