Toronto family income 95K, (one in IT, one labour), if can get a 75-80K IT job to start in Canifornia, (suppose TD holder can get some cash income later), do you think we should go?Money is not the only thing. But I guess for IT ppl, opportunities are more important. It looks like opportunities everywhere in Canifornia now, but not in Toronto. I say "75-80K to start" because I believe it will be better and better in US. but in Toronto 80K is like mission impossible.
Reponses I got from agents in Los Angeles in 2 weeks are like 3 times of what I got in Toronto in 3 mths.
Any suggestions? Anyone has same feeling? Please share your thought. Thanks.

we have similar situationOur family income is similar as yours. My husband just got an offer from San Fran, starting from 75-80K. He decided to go there because the company will sponsor green card. However I will stay in Toronto because my job is steady. Maybe we can share some info each other.

the only problem is 80K family income is low in California. My friends just bought a house there with 800K.Half million can only get a townhouse.

That's because in California, most of the houses are above $700K+. Buying a $800K house is just like buying a $300K in T.O.

if need buy house there. 80K is very hard for it later. if couples can get 150k there, will be better then toronto.

我建议去．虽然7-8k在加州属低工资，但钱途和环境比这好．我也想去，但我们在这的收入比你家更强，不找一份>100kUSD的工作好象得不偿失．但找高薪工作难度也大．

谢谢建议！看来有同样想法的大有人在啊，呵呵。你觉得80K还是很低么？就目前南加州的agent 给的价来看， 都是70-75， 我觉得要push 上80K 可能都有一定难度。是不是他们欺负我们加拿大穷人啊。

那我们不买房呢？在多伦多供房供得很辛苦，好像工作就是为了那套房子似的。Los Angeles 租房两房一厅也是一千多，我觉得如果80K 的收入应该也是可以负担。

You will like bay area if you are here!I am living in the bay area. The house here is very expensive 700k for a townhouse (2bd2bath, 1470 Sft). but the weather is very nice . you don't need to worry about the snow any more. once you are here, you will like here. make sure you can get GC

I am already in Los Angeles now. and I do like the weather here. It is so nice. Besides, 有山有海。看够了多伦多的冰雪，真得很想在这么一个Toronto's summer forever 的地方留下。

LA. It's a good city to visit. That's the only thing I would say. BTW, if you haven't found Chinese food yet. I recommend I-10@Garfield. Lots of good Chinese restaraunts.

AB is hot because of oil. BC also has oil and natural gas. Besides that, BC hightech such as fuel cell(best in the world) and wireless is booming.

没有那么多。大概64K 吧， 而且就我的方向，在多伦多已是相当好的了。所以我没指望能上85K, 觉得有80K 就很不错了。你觉得我该漫天要价一把？ ：-） 没那么多时间啊。多伦多的公司催我回去报到呢。
