我以前的同事，当然是永久居民啦，在911前去签证，一个人很悲哀的拿到了3个月还是6个月，另一个稍微不太悲哀的拿到了1年。

so your friend noticed the problem when he/she picked up passport & visa the next day? how did he get a chance to talk to visa officer when he picked up the visa?

I'm wondering too. At vancouver, visa is picked up in the afternoon. But poeple won't know how many times entry until picking up the visa, when he won't see visa offices.
