as far as i know, sometimes IRS and CRA do share information if they need to.

if you are non-resident for canadian tax purposes, you don't have to file canadian return at all.

Not at all. You have to pay US tax if you have US income. And non resident tax is much higher than residents' (in most cases), while benefit is less.

Based on US-Canada tax treaty, 美国NON RESIDENT ALIEN may be exempt from US tax. Ask the accountant who is both CPA and CA.

There's no tax treaty between US and Canada, I was told so by my employer's payrol office. Based on what I see on 1040 guide, if you have US income, you MUST file US tax return - either resident or non-resident.

在TAX YEAR 住满了31天且在TAX YEAR前两年加TAX YEAR共三年住满183天,那么你就可以视为RESIDENT ALIEN.

If you own tax, they can do many many things to make you repay as soon as possible -- put lien on house/car, deduct it from your salary, ect. And there is penalty for every single dollar you didn't file.
