差不多也是这样。我是在参加 Peel 教育局的家长会上听教育专家说的。我家儿子两岁来加拿大,直到九岁时,语言类学习成绩才逐步进步到 A。

他现在并不是全 A,全 A 也不是我的目标。我们家看成绩单,主要是看老师的评语,跟孩子讨论应该在哪些方面如何取得进步。所以他语言得 C 的时候,我们也觉得正常。不过,前些天他写了一首“诗”,其思想内涵,还是挺令我感动的。

正为这事担心呢。 孩子4岁,因在家说中文,现上幼儿园语言障碍还是很明显的,感觉老师似乎不太管他,(反正语言也不太通)只要他在幼儿园不哭不闹就好了。至于有没有学什么,有没有和别的小朋友交流,一起完成老师的课堂作业,好像不重要一样。 他比较害羞,很少主动与别的小孩玩成一片。他要不要上ESL呢?有什么办法可以让他快些赶上呢?

首先,不要耽心,孩子会自动通过语言关。其次,家长适当帮助,可以加快过渡过程。我的做法,问问孩子在学校学了什么,然后教教我,我们共同为新学会的语言表达方式表示高兴。关键:鼓励他主动学习英语单词,学会用简单方法表达自己的意思。

4岁,根本没什么好担心的。要担心的其实是中文。很快他/她就不说中文了。

不同意。年幼的孩子,使用流畅的语言进行社交对他们的心理发展极其重要。父母应当帮助他们尽快掌握当地流行的语言技能。做为来自中国的加拿大儿童,不会中文是个遗憾,不会英文则是灾难。

要看你指的英文水平是什么,交流是肯定没有问题,发音也没有问题,但是很多孩子的写作有问题,一些大点的孩子在申请大学时,写作都需要去补习,一些年纪大点的朋友,都是鼓励孩子多读英文书,英文里也有很多典故.

我完全同意你的观点。很多家长对语言的态度是情绪化的,记住: 你的孩子首先是个加拿大人,学好英语是第一位的。中文的学习不要强求,特别是读和写,难度太大。什么以后中国强大了,21世纪是中文的世纪,那都是扯淡。

还有一个问题。对于小孩,特别这里出生的,他/她首先是个加拿大人,中国裔是次要的。我碰到有些家长非要给孩子灌输他/她是个中国人,这不是给孩子成长添乱嘛。

我的观察,三四岁的孩子,如果全天上英文幼儿园,三五个月交流就没有问题了。语言学习看个人了,不过根本不需要五到七年才能正常,因为每天学的都是英文的。学习成绩不能作为衡量标准。纯母语是英文的当地孩子还有很多拿不到A呢。

很多这里出生的孩子,不上英文幼儿园的,上小学以后是要上ESL的,不是什么坏事。孩子的英文词汇量和本地人孩子没法比,别看都讲英文。

我不觉得这样啊。我在家有意不说英文。两个儿子都是3岁开始上preschool,刚进学校时都是一句英文不会讲的。3,4个月之后都讲得很好。老大现在上kindergarden,没觉得他在英文上比其他孩子差(也可能我要就太低 :))。

教育专家也说那是通常情况,不包括特别聪明的特例。我当初跟儿子约定在家说中文,在学校说英语,但他的中文水平还是随着英语的提高而下滑。毕竟,不看书不看电视不玩游戏,他的中文只能局限于家里楼上楼下那点儿事儿。

请问,你说“在语言类科目上发挥自己的正常水平”,是不是指充分理解领会文章的文化背景,以及运用英文表达细腻深刻的思想?我的儿子是在加拿大出生的,英文不错,阅读能力很强。我担心的是我们没有西方文化背景,是否会对他将来阅读复杂文章的理解有影响。想找个tutor。BTW, 他才满五岁,刚上Kindergarten. 是否应该等他上几年学再说?

我觉得不用担心这些,而且你孩子那么小,更不用担心了。等到孩子需要阅读复杂的文章时,他已经长大了,他这些年学习和生活经历足够帮助他理解那些了。孩子小一点的时候,可能受我们家长影响多一些,大一些你的影响越来越少。

你儿子五岁了?真快啊。我曾经跟不同老师谈过类似问题,总的结论是家长只要教育孩子中文及和中国文化有关的东西就足够了,然后督促他多读书,让孩子从书、电视电影学校社会活动等其他渠道去了解西方文化。这才是力所能及的。

我女儿5岁来上kindergarden,半年后英文比当地出生,家里讲广东话的孩子还要好,他的老师还专门问过我怎么教她的第一语言,老师认为这是相关的。现在5年级了,英文从来都是A.

我儿子4岁来的,当时满嘴中文。现在呢?英文没问题,同学称其为walking dictionary。中文基本全没了,上过一年中文学校,最后单字听写考试,写出来的都是汉语拼音。

俺大女儿6岁后才移民来的上小学1年级,来时连26个字母都会不全,3年后靠自己考进Gifted Program班,英文课拿过全A,目前基本都在85分以上。但中文却止于6岁来时的水平甚至还下降.......仅供参考

扯谈. 英文和中文都很重要. 英文比中文简单.小孩呆几年,很快学会.相反中文不容易.有些家长短视.主要他们不想当中国人.他们这辈子没办法,所以想从下一代去中国化,可耻.
