I knew a landlord from HongKong, you can rent a room for $200 or $180 from him, including everything,even cable TV, high speed internet and free CA and US call in evening. My friend is still living there.

If you got family here, you'd better rent a apartment in Regina. Pretty cheap in downtown Regina. One bedroom around $400. More more safe than Toronto. Mostly white people. Nice view in Downton Regina.

More resources hereUniversity of Regina has a Website for housing information, and Chinese students there have their own website. They are all very kind and I received lots of mail from them : )
