Yes, if your parents have stayed in Canada fo more than 6months before, they will be required to provide a criminal check certificate from RCMP when they apply for immigrantion .Like what I say, you can do it in advance or you can wait for the information. Because it takes time to prepare a criminal check certificate from RCMP, so if you do earlier, you save time. If you don't, you just wait for their futher information. It is up to you.
