PROBLEM OF THE WEEK 6
A book has n consecutive pages* torn out, Suppose A is the last numbered page before the torn-out section and B is the first numbered page following the torn-out section. Find a formula for n in terns of A and B.
*Each paper in a book has two sides. Each side is one page.
Show two examples with numbers in place of variables. Write one sentence that tells how/why/ your formula works.

But the solution including explainationof the formular, you need to show, when A is the odd number, then B would be the even number, when A is the even number, then B would be the odd number, so, anyway, the formular works fine.I feel their math teacher is very good, when solve a problem, the teacher ask them provide every step, that's the math,思维的严密

No. Although it's not hard to figure out this formula. However, If want to prove this fomula works fine indeed using 2 example, it needs some work

I think it is really depends on the teacher. My girl is in GR 5 also. I don't think she can figure out this problem. She hasn't been taught algebra yet. Her teacher is not good at Math. She is doing Math at Beestar. The problems seem to harder than what she is learning from school, but she is doing well.
