Good for you! Is your daughter in Grade 4 now? Is she in Saturday Chinese School? My daughter is studying Chinese on Saturday in John Fraser. If your daughter is in John Fraser too, maybe they know each other.

my son was accepted to gifted class too, however I am always puzzled by the fact that there are more chinese/indian student in gifted program. My son's current school is pretty mixed and two students accepted are all chinese, let me wonder if chinese students are truly more gifted than students from other ethnic group or are we, as chinese, having our child spend more time studying or preparing for the test?
it is good news to my family anyway but my son wasn't so excited becoz he gonna move to a new school to meet whole lot of new faces, just keep finger crossed that he will plow through the transition period just fine

Good for you. Hope your daughter is excited too. I don't know anything about CCAT. What is it? Have you done anything to help her pass the exam?

She is not as excited as me and she asked me not to be overacted.

我们准备让她take the in-school program.

FULL SCALE IQ 99%。
PERCEPTUAL REASONING 99%。PROCESSING SPEED 97%。VERBAL REASONING 93%。
WORKING MEMORY 87%。

Thank you!

No. She took CCAT and CAT3. The school called us and said that my daughter got a high score and is identified as gifted. We are invited to attend a meeting with IPRC to discuss her educational needs on June18.

but ABC Peel suggests that scores above the 90 percentile (but below 97) might be seen an indication that further testing is required, possibly with a full psycho-educational assessment such as the WISC IV or the Stanford Binet 5.

Is your son also taking the in-school gifted program in middle school? Can we have in-school program in Grade 5 and then transfer to the school with gifted class from Grade6?

You will keep going in-school program at middle shool. I really don't know about gifted class much.Maybe my son takes too much time on computer games or maybe he doesn't want show me his works. I still can take program report each term, but don't know what he did. They have to apply the high school with gifted class if they want keep this program, but no credit from it. Probably I will give up, because woodlands is too old to have enough tech resouces for kids.
