加拿大的医疗保险是不保看病住院什么的。和美国的医疗保险是完全不同的两个概念。

我们单位的Policy保，有人用过， 一个同事在美国时摔倒，脸骨摔断，在美国做了大手术，住院、医药全保了，另一个在美国患急性阑尾炎，也全保了。

Emergency out of country insurance only covers you say one to two weeks out of country. It will not cover you for 8 months school year continuously and it will not cover routine family doctor visit/drug prescriptions, etc.

Again it only covers Emergency. Not when you are studying and need to visit the doctor and get a prescription filled. The insurance company might underwrite you at the time of the claim.If refused, you are running the danger of having a medical bill that are tens of thousands dollars.
Get the proper insurance. Do NOT gamble.

孩子在美国上大学，可以用OHIP代替学校的医疗保险 (not all schools accept it). 你孩子需要到OHIP office 办一个出国学习的手续。这样他的OHIP不会间断.
