读书应该没有问题吧，这么多人都来了。如果你有了 PERMANENT RESIDENCE，就该算 DOMESTIC STUDENT 了。

好像孩子读中小学没问题，读大学的时候家里还没拿到绿卡就享受不了本地学生待遇。

not correct - Green Card is not necessary. You are legal RESIDENT.

For private universities, if the kid doesn't have a Green card when he applies to university, he will be treated as international student in the admission process, no difference from students living in Canada.

中学之前和加拿大一样,不过关教学质量好很多(可比学区).上大学,有的州要求住满1年,有的州只要求入学当时,升州立大学和本地学生一样.上私立大学大家都一样.加拿大没有完全意义上的私立大学,所以本地和国际学生才有那末大区别.美国住久,你会发现和中国更接近,比如残酷竞争,比如没有保障和安全感,比如快节奏...

我也想问一下，父母拿HIB或是TN的高中生申请公立，私利大学和GC的差别在哪儿？加拿大和美国的教育背景确实差别很大，我们也觉得大学之前在加拿大比较好，但是对于一个想申请美国公立或私立大学的孩子来说，是不是在美国上高中更容易些呢？

You can search universities' web sites. Many private universities will tell you without green card a student will be treated as international applicant, no matter where he/she lives or studies. No idea for public universities.
